Undefeated school athletics at 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m from Year 7 to Year 10.
Andrew decided to take some time off until he discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1999. Training out of the original Hanger 4 under Gerald Batty and Doug Meijer, he became known for his aggressive skills and theatrics on and off the mat. Countless state and national titles were won.
In 2002, having his first MMA fight, he was one of the first fighters out of Victoria.
In 2012, he won his first international title at the Indonesian Grappling Championship.
For a short period, he tried Strongman competition, becoming one half of the Ballarat Tram Pull Champion of the World in 2017 (still holds the record to this day).
In 2018, he placed fifth in the Victorian Strongman competition.
In 2018, after winning one more national title (brown belt open weight), Andrew finally achieved the rank of black belt awarded to him by his lifelong training partner and good friend Gerald Batty.
After a long journey of many ups and downs, Andrew is now enjoying retirement and sharing the knowledge he has learned along the way.
